Back Again!

It's been a few weeks, but we're back in Raoul's. Dan may be back at work, but we felt it was a good idea to carry on with the blog anyway.

So here is a picture of Ed and Streves enjoying a rum sazerac and some chips. The picture was taken on my new Nokia E65 mobile and this entry was posted from it as well, which I think is rather cool.

Doom and Gloom

Well, it's another Friday and we're not at Raoul's. We have to take a break sometime! Dan and Sarah's holiday is over and they should be back in the UK by now. It looks like they had an amazing time. I'm sure they'll have lots of interesting stories to tell and have very big smiles on their faces when they wall in to the office... For about half an hour until they realise that nothing has changed! They're back at work! They'll need another holiday! Bwaa-ha-ha-ha! (that way an evil laugh by the way)

Last Friday at Raoul's

Andrew has finally finished editing his epic video montage of last Friday night at Raoul's. I think it's been well worth the wait!

More Snow!

It has snowed a little bit moee today, but it is now sleeting and everything is starting to melt. Oh well. It was never going to last.

Anyway, here are a few more photos of snow in Oxford.

Oop!

Ah. Those were actually pictures of Dave's skiing holiday. Sorry. My bad!

Here's a picture of Oxford in the snow. More to follow.

It's Snowing in Oxford!

We had a huge dump of snow in Oxford last night! Well, I say a huge dump. By British standards it was huge. By European stanards it was a light sprinkle. Transport chaos has, as usual, resulted.

Anyway, here are a few photos and a video clip of what people have been getting up to in the snow.

A Virtual Tour of Raoul's

A video clip from Friday night. I thought everyone might like to see the new decor.

I'll have a White Chocolate Martini...

So Raoul's opened once again at 4pm GMT and a few of us dropped by for a cocktail or five. The new decor is nice. The colours are a bit brighter upstairs and they've changed the seats. The tables now have yellow lights fixed to them instead of candles. I guess they got tired of people dropping match-sticks into the candle-holders. The cocktails are as tasty as ever!

A good time was had by all.

I will try adding video clips as soon as I figure out how to upload them to YouTube.

Doughnut Run

As it's Friday, we have shelled out for the traditional bag of doughnuts and have added a few pastries for good measure. Just the thing after having stepped off a plane with nothing to eat but plane food for the past 12 hours...

The Grand Re-opening

The grand re-opening of Raoul's is now just a day away (it's been closed for the past few weeks for redecorating). So come 4pm tomorrow I will be sitting in the comfortable surroundings of the local bar, which I feel is far preferable to sitting in the cramped surroundings of a 767 for 12 hours. Plus I have a free drink voucher!

So here is a picture of the outside of the newly decorated bar. Hong Kong? Pah!

Not in the LEAST bit jealous

Some friends of ours have taken a month off work to go travelling around New Zealand. They have started a Blog and forwarded everyone the link so we keep up with all the things they do (check it out at http://weareonholiday.blogspot.com/).

I feel that, as the people left behind in England... in Winter... at work... it is our moral responsibility to let them know just what they are missing out on. As none of us are going on any exotic holidays over the next month, we'll have to let them know about all the fun things we are doing in Oxford, namely going to Raoul's (http://www.raoulsbar.com/) and drinking copious amouts of cocktails. We can then post pictures of the revelry on this blog to give them an idea of how much fun we are having while they are away in Lord-of-the-Rings-land.

To get the ball rolling, here are a couple of pictures of a rather nice old-fashioned I had a little while ago...
